The Kiwis came into the final on a run of just one defeat in 10 races but Italy's Azzurra pulled off a shock win in the Louis Vuitton Trophy, they hung on for a 17 second win and won the series with a 2-0 win over Team New Zealand in Nice. 22nd November 2009 .
